Managing the Service Configuration Settings
Introduction
The Service Configuration is a comprehensive tool that empowers the Service Manager to establish a variety of parameters and defaults, which are crucial for the effective structuring and optimization of the Service Department.
Below, you will find a detailed explanation of each setting, along with guidance on how you can customize these settings to align perfectly with the unique requirements of your department, ensuring that every aspect of the service process is optimized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Navigate to: Service >Maintenance > Service Configurations
At the top of the page, you'll find options available for you to choose from, each designed to cater to different aspects of the service configuration process. By clicking on each tab, you can delve into a variety of settings that allow you to personalize and tailor your configurations to meet the specific needs and preferences of your department.
Technician
- Number of ROs per Tech
- Limits the number of RO’s per Technician, in which they are able to simultaneously clock time.
- Automatically Stop Time
- Allows the user to select [Stop Time] in the event a technician forgets to end the clock time at the end of the day.
Appointments
- Require an Appt. Advisor
- Determines if an Advisor is required on Service Appointments or not.
- Appt. Default Advisor
- Determines how an Advisor will default into the Advisor field on Service Repair Orders. Your choices include:
- Advisor creating RO unless created from appointment (The Advisor on the appointment record becomes the RO advisor)
- Advisor from VIN unless created from appointment (Advisor on appointment record becomes RO advisor)
- Always advisor creating RO (Advisor is the person creating RO, regardless of appointment)
- Always advisor from VIN (Advisor from the VIN, regardless of appointment)
- Determines how an Advisor will default into the Advisor field on Service Repair Orders. Your choices include:

Printing
- Warranty Recap:
- Print Tech Notes on all OEM Recaps
- Work Order:
- Include Labor hours on the work order
- Add additional blank lines per operation when printing work order
- Internal:
- Option to include internal part cost on work order
- Include labor cost and rate on work order
Tip: Adding additional blank lines to the work order will allow the user more space to manually add notes to the work order |
- Oil Change Label
- With Dealership information on the left, you will see editable fields for Next Miles and Next Date on the right (shown below).
- This will default to Service Miles and Service Date to ensure clear instructions on when the next service is due.
Note: Once the Months and Mile parameters are set on the Oil Change Label in configurations, the information will import to the Repair Order when the [Oil Change Label] print option |
