Understanding Service Op Codes

How to add and manage Service Op Codes

Introduction

Operation codes help categorize service tasks and their prices. This system improves service delivery and ensures accurate billing for customers. Op Codes make it easier for Advisors to include services in repair orders and enhance transactions, while also helping Technicians manage their tasks effectively.

Adding an Op Code

Navigate to:  Service > Maintenance > Op Codes

You will see a grid with all of your Operation Codes listed

  1. Select the [New] button Screenshot 2025-02-28 152126 on the top left corner
  2. Add the Op Code you wish for that particular operation (use letters, numbers, or a combo of both)
  3. Select [Create]

  4. Once [Create] is selected it takes you to a new screen that allows you to customize your operation.

 

Op Code Customization

  1. Add your Op Code description, you can also select a particular skill level that is required to perform that Op.
  2. Add concern, cause, and correction to better guide your technician for the repair

  3. You can make this a Popular Op Code by selecting the drop-down on the top right corner

Add Descriptions for Certain Makes and Models

Scrolling down shows the ability to add low year and high year for that make and model along with descriptions. Select  Screenshot 2025-02-13 091811

Adding Fees

  1. Add fees for the operation by selecting Screenshot 2025-02-13 091828 
  2. An Op Code Fee screen populates. Select [Add] to add your fee.
  3. Select [Ok] when done

Adding Parts

  1. Add parts to your operation by selecting Screenshot 2025-02-13 091821
  2. An Op Code Parts Screen populates. Select [Add] to add your part number, along with the quantity.
  3. Select [Ok] when finished.

Categorize your specific service operations with rate codes and fixed pricing. This organization simplifies providing services and facilitates efficient billing for your customers.

 

Labor Hours, Rate Codes, and Fixed Pricing

You can customize your operation further by adding the labor hours required for that operation, rate information, and fixed pricing.
