Tech Management - Tech Skill Assignment (Service)
The Tech Management screen empowers Accounting, HR, Payroll, and Service Managers with a streamlined method to assign Skill Levels, Rate Levels, Tech Levels, and Default Hourly Rates to technicians.
VUE is a permissions-driven system that tailors security access to suit each users needs. Access to each menu item is managed by an Administrator at your dealership. See the Help article on Roles and Permission to learn how. You can update a Role or you can update the Employee Record.

Technician Management Page (Skill Assignment)
Navigate to Service > Maintenance > Tech Management
Use the GO TO button quickly access the related Skill Levels, Rate Levels, or Op Codes screens. You can also Search by technician name or skill and filter by the type of tech, by department, Service, Quick Lube, or Body Shop.
Technician Cards
Each technician card displays the department(s) of their position. The blue ovals are department indicators (S)Service, (QL) Quick Lube, and (BS) Body Shop. If skills are assigned, they are listed. If the list is longer than the card can display, click the …(+#) to view the rest of the skills.
Bulk Assign
To add skills to a group of technicians, check more than one technician and click the [Bulk Assign] button.
- You can add skills, add/remove the Rate Level (if applicable), and Tech Level during this process.
- You cannot edit the default hourly rate or rate level amount(s).
Single Edit or Assign
To edit skills for a single tech, click the edit icon on the technician card. The single assign modal will show the current skills, and the skills not yet assigned.
- The user can add or remove skills and edit the default hourly rate, rate levels (if applicable), and Tech Level during this process.
