SFTP Site Information

This guide will explain how to download batched VUE data and attachment zip files from an SFTP site.

  1. To download your VUE files that have been uploaded by the Dominion DMS data team, you will need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Client.

    1. If you do not have one, you can download and install a free FTP Client called FileZilla from here

    2. The following instructions will show you how to access your VUE files from the FileZilla Client

  2. Open FileZilla client

  3. Click File > Site Manager

  4. Select "New site" button (bottom left)

  5. Name the new site: VUE

  6. On the right side, within the General tab, fill out the following fields:

    1. Protocol: SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol

    2. Host: ftp-data-012783.dominiondms.com

    3. User: This will be supplied to you by Dominion

    4. Password: This will be supplied to you by Dominion in a second email

  7. Click Connect
    1. Your computer's hard drive will appear on the left side (Local site).
    2. The zip file(s) of data and attachments from VUE will appear on the right side (Remote site).
    3. Open the Local site and browse to the desired folder where you will download the files onto your computer.
    4. Drag and drop the VUE file(s) from the Remote site to your Local site.
  8. Once the files have successfully transferred (this may take a while depending on your download speed), you can disconnect via FileZilla by selecting Disconnect in the top Action bar.  Close FileZilla Client when you are finished.
