Discover the Inspection Screen and Conduct Vehicle Inspections from the Repair Order and Appointment Screens
Learn how to use the Inspection screen and perform vehicle inspections right from the Repair Order and Appointment screens. This functionality supports pre-checks, walkarounds, or preliminary tech inspections often performed at drop-off or during write-up. This enhances efficiency in evaluating vehicle conditions, guaranteeing that all essential checks are completed without leaving the main workflow.

Best Practices:
- Ensure Mileage is entered prior to Customer Authorization.

Launch an Inspection from a Service Appointment
This functionality initiates an inspection workflow directly from a Service Appointment, streamlining early-stage vehicle evaluation before an RO is created. Perfect for Fixed Ops teams that use inspections to guide the initial estimate or prioritize work based on vehicle condition and customer concerns.
This workflow allows dealerships to:
- Capture inspection data earlier in the service life cycle.
- Improve upsell opportunities before RO creation.
- Reduce handoff friction between advisors and techs.
- Log findings that influence right-up decisions.
This must be enabled via Service > Maintenance > Service Configuration
Appointments Tab > change Appt Inspection to Yes (under General section).
In order to change this setting, Service Configuration > Read and Update Permissions is required, or contact our support team.
Navigate to: Any of the Service Appointments screens

Open an Appointment
Select an existing appointment or create a new one, including vehicle and customer details. -
Start the Inspection
Click the [Inspection] button at the bottom of the screen. - A pop-up window opens with a replica of the vehicle pictured.

Complete the Inspection
Just like using the inspection on the RO, Mileage must be entered before the customer can authorize the inspection. -
Save the Inspection
Once completed, save the inspection.The inspection saves to Attachments, linked to the Vehicle, and the Inspection button displays a green outline, indicating completion.
- Within the inspection, select the [Return to Appointment] button in the top right to return to the Appointment screen.

Transition to Repair Order (RO)
When converting the appointment to a Repair Order, the inspection findings carry over. If the inspection was printed, it is also copied to the RO attachments.
Launch an Inspection from a Repair Order
This functionality allows service staff to initiate an inspection workflow directly from the Repair Orders (RO) screen — enabling real-time evaluations that align with active service work.
This integration empowers dealerships to:
- Launch inspections seamlessly within the RO workflow.
- Document vehicle condition during service—not just at check-in.
- Strengthen communication between advisors and technicians by capturing inspection results in context.
- Improve upsell opportunities and customer transparency by linking inspection findings to live ROs.
Navigate to: Service > Advisor > Repair Order
- Open an RO
Select an existing Repair Order or create a new one, including vehicle and customer details. - Start the Inspection
Click the [Inspection] button at the bottom of the screen. - Complete the Inspection

- Return to the Repair Order by selecting [Return to Repair Order] at the top of the screen.
Within the Inspection Screen
The inspection screen is an adaptable feature that provides an array of options for tailoring vehicle inspections to meet specific needs. With its intuitive design, inspection allows easy navigation and data entry, enabling you to annotate, document, and capture essential details seamlessly.
- After selecting the [Inspection] option within the Repair Order or Appointment screens, a pop-up window displays a digital representation of the vehicle.
- You can toggle between different angles by selecting options such as Left Front and Right Rear.
- Selecting [Mark] allows you to highlight specific areas of interest or concern directly on the vehicle image.
- Add detailed notes to document observations, recommendations, or any relevant information to assist in the service process.
- If using a tablet, choose [Shoot] to capture photos of the vehicle. These images automatically link to the associated Repair Order.
- Mileage must be entered before the customer can authorize the inspection.
- Save the Inspection
Once completed, save the inspection. - Return to the Repair Order by selecting [Return to Repair Order] at the top of the screen.
