Requesting Parts (Technician)

Parts can be requested from three separate areas in the Technician System.
Service > Technician > Technician System
Inside the Primary Grid:

Input a log string into any of the column text fields at the top of the screen.

Click on the RO# hyperlink or the caret on the far right of the Repair Order line to view the Repair Order.
Within the Technician System RO screen:
1. Click the [Start Time] icon to the right of the Operation to start time.
2. Click the Regular, Diagnostic, or Straight time hyperlinks to select the Clock Time Type.
3. Click the [Request Parts] button to open the Parts Request window.
4. If applicable, click the Job dropdown and select the Job Letter.
5. If the part number is known, click the Part Number field and input the number.
6. Click the Qty field and input the part number quantity being requested.

If the exact part number is unknown, click the Part Description field and input the description of the part being requested.
- If applicable, click the Notes field and input any note that needs to be send with the request.
- Click the Order Fill dropdown and select either Order Fill or P&A (Price and Availability)
- If other parts need to be requested, click the [Add Part] button to add a new line to the Parts Request list.
- If a camera is attached and a picture needs to be included in the request, click the [Image] button.
- Click the rectangle button on the middle right of the screen to toggle the camera from front to back.
- Click the circle button on the middle right of the screen to capture the image.
- Click X in the upper right-hand corner to close the image capture screen.
- If another picture is to be included, click the [Add] button.
- Click the [Continue] button to attach the image to the request.
- If an attachment is to be added click the [Attach] button to open the Add Parts Request Attachment window.
- Browse the Open window to locate the file to Attach. When located, click the [Open] button.
- Click the [Save] button to add the attachment to the request.
- Click the [Send] button to submit the request.
· Part Requests may also be performed by clicking the [Part Requests] button in the Action Ribbon in the Technician System RO screen. As well as, by click the [Parts Request] button within the Repair Order Operations window after Clock Time has been started.
· When parts are being requested, if the exact number is input correctly in the Part Number field, a green checkmark will display to the right of the Part Number.
