How to Resolve Blank SUI Monthly Amounts in Payroll Reports

This article explains the reasons why the SUI monthly amounts may appear blank and provides steps to resolve the issue.

Understanding the Issue

The SUI (State Unemployment Insurance) monthly amounts may show as blank due to the deletion of the effective date and rate for the current year. This can occur when transitioning to a new year in the payroll system.

Steps to Resolve the Issue

To correct the blank SUI monthly amounts, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to  Payroll > Maintenance > Company Information

  2. Select the Company you want to edit

  3. Select the FICA/FUTA SUI tab

  4. Add Effective Date and Rate:

    • Choose the option to Add the effective date and rate for the current year (e.g., 2026).
    • Ensure that you do not select Edit, as this may lead to the deletion of prior year information.
  5. Save Changes:

    • After entering the new effective date and rate, make sure to Save your changes.
  6. Re-run Reports:

    • Once the updates are made, re-run your quarterly reports to verify that the SUI monthly amounts are now populated correctly.

Conclusion

By ensuring that the effective date and rate for the current year are properly added in the Payroll Maintenance section, you can resolve the issue of blank SUI monthly amounts. If you continue to experience problems, please reach out for further assistance.
