GM Digital Retail Platform (DRP) Integration
The GM Digital Retail Platform (DRP) provides dealerships with a comprehensive, omnichannel solution to seamlessly manage the customer vehicle search and purchase process. For dealerships, the DRP integrates with VUE DMS to streamline deal booking, eliminating manual data entry and enhancing operational efficiency.
This guide walks you through the steps to set up and utilize the GM DRP integration within Dominion VUE.
Setting Up the GM DRP Integration
Pre-Requisites:
Contact VUE Support to activate the GM DRP integration in VUE.
- Initial Setup Data: GM DRP requires periodic updates for specific deal setup data. GM DRP will request the following data from VUE DMS when the integration is initially activated for your dealership.
- Fees
- Lenders
- Service Contracts
- Accessories
- Insurance (including GAP)
- Staff Assignments
- Triggering Setup Transactions:
- Updating Setup Data: If setup data (see above) appears out of date or has been updated in VUE, you can make a request in GM DRP to update this data from VUE DMS.
Customer Management in GM DRP
- Customer Search:
- Dealers can search for a customer in VUE by name, email address, or phone number.
- A search transaction is initiated with VUE, and matching customer records are returned for review.
- Adding a New Customer:
- If the customer does not exist in VUE, the dealer can request the addition of a new customer.
Managing Inventory in GM DRP
- Dealers or GM can trigger inventory updates to synchronize vehicle inventory between GM DRP and VUE.
- This ensures all inventory details are current and accurate within both systems.
Booking a Deal in GM DRP
- Building and Booking a Deal:
- Dealers build deals within the GM DRP portal, including vehicle selection, pricing, and additional options like accessories or warranties.
- Once the deal is finalized, the dealer books the deal in GM DRP.
- GM DRP will send the deal to VUE.
- Completing the Deal in VUE:
- Dealers search for and view the deal within VUE.
- Any additional steps to finalize or close the deal can be completed directly in VUE.
Periodic Updates and Maintenance
To ensure smooth operations and up-to-date integration:
- Dealers or GM must periodically trigger setup transactions for:
- Deal setup data (e.g., fees, lenders, service contracts).
- Vehicle inventory.
- Customer data.
This ensures alignment between VUE and GM DRP for all dealership activities.
Additional Information
- The integration leverages Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and a publish/subscribe (pub/sub) messaging pattern for seamless communication between GM DRP and VUE.
- SecureVUE handles deal processing, ensuring data accuracy and efficient transaction handling.
- Any updates to customer or address data within a deal remain isolated to that transaction and do not alter the master customer record.
- Note that for financial accuracy, taxes do not transfer from GM DRP to VUE DMS when GM pushes a deal to VUE. VUE will add default fees based on dealer setup and recalculate the deal.
By following these steps, your dealership can fully leverage the GM Digital Retail Platform integration, delivering an exceptional customer experience while simplifying your internal processes.
For questions on the GM DRP platform, reach out to your DRP3 and/or RIM (DRP field personnel).
