Deal Lock (Sales)
Exciting News
VUE now has an enhanced Deal Lock feature for a superior Sales experience!
We’re excited to introduce an update to the Sales module geared towards a more secure and efficient experience and designed to elevate your Sales and Finance Management for added security and control.
Here’s What’s New:
- Enhanced Security: Safeguard your changes with our new security measures that prevent other users from overwriting your data or modifications.
- Alert Notifications: Stay informed with real-time notifications when someone else accesses or makes changes to deals.
- Lock Deals: Gain greater control by locking deals so that no one else can make changes while you’re working on them. This feature ensures your updates are preserved and uninterrupted.
- Unlock Deals: Permissioned users can easily unlock deals without the need to call into Support.
These enhancements are designed to boost your productivity and streamline your sales processes. These improvements will make your experience more secure and efficient, allowing you to focus on closing deals and driving success.
The Deal Lock feature prevents multiple-user editing so that only one person can edit a deal at a time. Click on the Tune-Up video to learn how.
Navigate to Sales > F&I > Deals
Deal Lock
- When a user edits a deal, icons, and notifications are displayed to identify it as locked.
- In the Deal, when a user begins to edit, a lock icon is displayed, and all other users are locked out until the editing user:
- Clicks on the [Save] button in the Action Ribbon.
- Refreshes the screen without saving.
- or Navigates away from the Deal screen and does not save.
- All other users have View-only access while the Deal is locked.
Note that no such Lock exists on the Desk, and Deal Lock only applies once a Desk has been changed to a Deal and a Deal number has been assigned.
- In the Deal, an Active User list is provided so that all users can see others who are accessing the same deal record. The Key icon next to the name indicates which user is currently editing the deal.
Force Unlock
If a user locks a deal, another user with the proper employee permissions, may force it to unlock. When a deal is Forced Unlocked, any unsaved changes will be lost. Typically, this elevated permission is reserved for Sales Managers and the dealership Controller.
To grant permission to Force Unlock,
- Navigate to Accounting > Maintenance > Employee
- Search/sort and select the employee record.
- On the Permissions tab, in the Effective Permissions section, use the expanding menu to navigate to Sales > F&I > Deals > Force Deal Unlock and mark the checkbox.
- To Force Unlock , the permissioned user should click on the Lock icon and answer [Yes, Unlock Deal] to discard all unsaved changes and unlock the deal.
