Creating a Role

VUE is a permissions-driven system that tailors security access to suit each user's needs. Access to each menu item is managed by an Administrator at your dealership. See the Help article on Roles and Permissions to learn how.

How to create a new role in VUE

To create a new role in VUE, navigate to Accounting > Maintenance > Roles, click the New button, complete the role details, and assign permissions. Role creation requires Administrator access at your dealership.

Within the Roles Screen:

1. Click the New button in the Action Ribbon to open the New Role window.
2. Click the Inherits From dropdown and select either a pre-existing role or the blank selection.
3. Enter the name of the new role in the Role Name field.
4. Click the Create button.
5. Assign permissions to the new role using the checkboxes in the permissions grid. For a full list of available permissions and their descriptions, see the Permissions Reference Guide.
