Instructions for Discoverable and Manual Printer Setup
Discoverable On Network Printer
Starting at the Windows Start Menu:
Navigate to: Settings>Bluetooth & Devices>Printers & Scanners
- From here, we will click on Add Device
- Windows will search the PC for a hard-connected printer and also networked printers on the network that are discoverable.
- Printers that are connected to the network or hardwired will appear in the highlighted box.
- If the printer is not listed, we can still add it by selecting the ‘Add a new device manually’ option. Detailed instructions for this process are provided in the next segment below.
- To install a printer, click on 'Add Device' next to the printer, and Windows will complete the installation for you.
- Instructions for completing the printer installation are outlined below.
If the printer has multiple trays, you will need to perform additional steps for the trays to be recognized by Windows so that they are available in VUE.
Manually Adding a Printer
Navigate to: Settings>Bluetooth & Devices>Printers & Scanners
You will need the IP Address, Printer Network Name, and possibly more information depending on how the network is configured.
If our printer does not appear in our search, we will add the device manually.
Select Add the printer with an IP Address or other identifier.
- Each option here will ask for different information, depending on the dealership network.
If you are unsure or if the users cannot provide the needed information, you will need to get with the IT department or the IT provider to install.
- Specify the Device Type and enter the IP Address and possibly the Port.
- Each network will be set up on what the IT department or provider decided.
If the information is not available, contact the IT department or provider to assist.
